9th Memory [Action/Voice]

[After a very tiring last few weeks—between learning about things she's forgotten and turning into things she could never willingly forget—Sayo found herself resting comfortably in Luceti. The experiment, while straining for some, wasn't so bad. She'd gotten to record an image of her son's face while she was stuck in his body... and now she can proudly put the picture on a table in her living room.

Even with her in his body, it was still so him. Did they really share the way they emoted that well? It's something to laugh about.

She's also been working on making something beyond the traditional Japanese outfit. Because honestly? She wanted to try something new—even if it meant her knowledge of clothes-making was in jeopardy, she didn't mind it. She'd relearn it later, hmm?

So she's been making blankets and dropping them off at the clothes store. Ones that are moreso her world's style, some that are patterned unlike anything she's used to (—and what interesting ways of making blankets! Quilts!). She can't help but ask, as she sits contently to watch people come and go:]

What type of hobbies do you enjoy doing? And has this place made you form any new ones?

[After that, she'll leave, and uncharacteristically veer off her usual path toward the inner forest.

She's been hearing (repeatedly, forgetting often, relearning often...) that there are spirits here that can teach people things. She's not sure which to listen to first, but she knows she wants to try. Try... and see if it's something her mind will keep intact. Perhaps the water one... or the wind one... Ah, those would be good! They would be helpful to protect oneself without hurting the other person fighting, right?

When she feels she's far out enough, she speaks hesitantly—]

Hello...? Is... is this how I speak with you...?

Hn. Really? Is that a new one for you?

Ah, actually, I've been doing it for a while now... [She can't remember... not working at the loom, actually.] I've never been able to sleep during the night—as in, I just don't sleep at all. So I've been preoccupying my time with things like that... or perhaps note-taking!

You don't sleep? Ever?

Not at all, I'm afraid. There's a small creature in my head that eats away my memories; one of the side-effects is that I'm unable to sleep, from them.

That sounds... unpleasant. No way to get rid of them?

Unfortunately no, but I can try to keep all of my most important memories in life in tact by thinking about them often. So all I can do is keep on working and give it my best.

Wow.

At least that's some impressive attitude about it.

Well, I have to try to be strong! After all, I have a son waiting for me back home, and I'd be setting a pretty poor example if I decided to let this ruin my day-to-day life.

You have a kid?

Hn. Aren't you worried about losing those important memories of him?

[She shakes her head, determined.]

No, I'm not. As long as I think of him nightly, the creature won't take away my memories of him—I wouldn't let something like that happen, no matter what.

[At home... he is all I really have.]

That makes sense then. Though it still seems rough.

It does have its disheartening days, but doesn't everyone get to deal with that in life?

Ah, that is a rather long time! I'm not sure when I got here exactly, but it hasn't felt long at all, really. Though I imagine you've been through some of these bizarre experiments, too... Some of them just seem so ridiculous, I can't imagine why they even happen...
