23rd Memory [Voice/Action!]
[Sayo had no idea what a mask was, or what Halloween was... or what shifts are. It'd been so long since the last one, she'd literally erased it from memory. At this point, she's barely even aware of what the Malnosso are... But this 'mask' thing, it was all over the place in the item shops. And when she went home, she found one sitting on her small coffee table. She spent a few moments looking it over, curious, flipping it in her hands... It was sort of pretty. Tempting to try on, definitely.
And when she did, it was like a light-switch in her head flicked off.]
.... Where... ?
[Who... ?]
[She wandered her house in confusion, and if she'd remembered her small childhood in Luceti it would have been familiar.
But it's not. Nothing's very familiar at all. When she finally makes her way outside into the sunlight, nothing's changed. Who am I? Where am I? What's going on? Why is it happening? These are simple thoughts as she blindly walks through town, mask clasped around her features. Be careful, passer-bys. One touch from the Shadow Mask can remove memories; the amount is uncertain—could be the memory of one person, could be your life's story, could be that thing you did yesterday.... Perhaps you'll just lose memory of what certain things are.
Heaven forbid there are more than one amnesiac person around here, right?
At least it'll go away eventually. Tomorrow? A few days, at the most, until the event's over... Though, it's not like Sayo knows it.]
[Voice]
... Where am I?
[She'll be around town. And even in the dead of the night, out in the forest. And then perhaps out in the rain tomorrow, staring at it with some sort of scared awe, from under a tree. Familiar, right?]

....
What is it?
['What is wrong' or 'What is a moon', who knows.]
no subject
Is it not obvious? The Moon has been cursed.
no subject
She keeps her eye on it, from behind her mask, eyes full of confusion. And perhaps some awe, in the face of... whatever the hell was going on with that moon there.]
Cursed by what?
no subject
You are also wearing a mask...
no subject
I suppose I am... I'm not really sure where it came from...
[...]
I'm not sure about a lot of things. Where am I?
no subject
Luceti. Clearly you must know that by now.
no subject
I don't remember. Have I... always been here?

You think so? Do they have the ability to do strange things like that?

[He moves his hand forward to try and take the mask.]
no subject
She's not sure why, but she wants to stop him. For some reason, she wants this mask; her hand reaches up and touches his as she pulls back a bit, surprised.]
Wait—
no subject
... you. [... this woman...]

She draws back, alarmed, confused. Did she do something wrong?]
Are you okay? What's wrong??

It's Luceti, isn't it? That's what... That's what you told me.

Anything like that.

Do you think it has... to do with the curse on the moon?
[After all, you're not wearing a mask. So duh.]

[He stares at her incredulously, then turns to the sky. What he sees causes him to stumble back in surprise.]
Goddesses, is that normal?
no subject
OR I'LL START PANICKING.]
I-I don't know. I don't think so...!! Is it supposed to make a face?
no subject
... no. At least, I do not think it should. [Holding his head.] Argh... why can I not remember?
no subject
[She turns in place, still just as confused.]
I just woke up in this place. Everything's been so strange.
no subject
That is self evident for itself. I need answers.
no subject
I'm sure if we keep asking people things, we're sure to figure something out!
no subject
... perhaps. My name, at least, would be a start.

It sounded like people were talking on it.

It's while he's out that he sees someone else, looking a little lost. He knows this person too, sort of; if they were in the kitchen together he'd stop, and they'd have tea. That was mostly just on occasion, though. He drifts over, not really floating, but the mask makes his clothes float and shift as if he were underwater, and he looks so pale that he might as well be white.]
You're... Sayo, right?
no subject
She takes a step back, alarmed.]
Y-you—your face—!!
Is that normal? Is floating normal??
