30th Memory [Action]
Day 1
[Sayo's laying in a clearing, donning her usual kimono, feeling a little worn - but at least she's back ... Back from where, again? She rubs her forehead, trying to think of why she's glad to be here again. Um. Did she go wandering outside again and fall asleep? With a sigh she starts trekking back home, confused... and a little worried, because she's pretty sure she doesn't sleep, so...
Before she gets up to go, a long shadowy creature (she and normal people can't see, unfortunately) crawls from her ear down into the forest. But of course it dies quickly without her sustaining it. Running into her? Be prepared for a few problems. Mainly, that when she smiles or laughs, she teleports.
She really likes to smile.]
Day 2 - 5
[Must not smile. Must not smile. Must not smile.
Sayo's back from her mallynap. Which she just re-learned about yesterday. Sob. She's going to the restaurant to help out, and she's at the tea shop, but you'll notice she's been trying to remain very stony-faced and determined. This is because if she doesn't, you may never get your tea. It may end up in someone's house. Must be careful. Cautious. Yes.]
Here you go...
[P o k e r f a c e, as she delivers your order. You're welcome. Okaybye.]
Day 6 - 10

[Well, the teleporting problem is over. But now she's short. Short and like... five years old again. She's walking through the town wrapped in a white kimono way too big for her, looking very confused. Maybe get this kid some proper clothes. Eventually in the week, she'll be all settled somewhere - but she never, ever stays in place when told, so she's wandering around the town looking into all these new and interesting things. She may give in to her curiosity and look through your windows into your homes. She may be messing with something on your lawn. Flower bed? Gnome? Switchblades? Whatcha' got on the lawn for me to poke around?
By the end of the day she's standing in front of the item shop, holding one of these, which is unfortunately missing the ball and string. Stupid thrift shop devices.
More importantly, she's trying to figure out what the hell it does. If you're walking by, you'll notice a thought bubble over her head, flashing images as she stares down this thing:

... Yeah, she has no clue.]
((OOC: Catch her any time! Just lemme know when. I'll be using
whatsanything for bitty Sayo! Also, this post might be image heavy, or at least will have images in the comments.))

Day 2
It'll still be better than anything I could do myself. [ A little shrug and a relinquishing of the grin. ] Are you all right? Didn't know you got back in or I'd have asked earlier.
Day 2
no smiling today]
Oh, no! That's right, I was... kidnapped, was it? [She itches her hairline, pursing her lips. Sayo not smiling is weird.] I admit, I can't remember any of what happened. I don't even remember being taken in the first place...
Day 2
Right, memory-eating magic thing. Not that they probably couldn't do some memory-erasing on their own if they wanted to, honestly. Scientists are jerks. ]
Big gap to have, isn't it?
Day 2
Unfortunately... I must've missed a lot of days of work--and just in time for my boss to be taken. But I know he'd want the restaurant to keep going strong, so I've been working extra shifts here until he gets back!
Day 2
Day 2
Oh, I definitely will—I mean, I always have plenty of energy, but if I ever feel tired I'll rest. It'd be more stressful for my coworkers that I'm here and tired than away.
[Bites her lip, because oh. This is like trying not to breathe.]
Day 2
wow god fine he'll just take up the smiling slack for both of them. ] Er. Mostly just in for a cuppa today, if the kettle's still in the picture.
[ He should probably. Let her do her job at work. Whoops. ]
Day 2
I can make—
[POOF.
Did you hear a shriek and a splash? No? That's because she's in the fountain in the middle of the plaza, down the road. Whoops. Did you say something about a kettle? She'll get back to that in a sec.]
no subject
Just gonna. Pop out of his seat not at all in a freaked-out manner here and look around. Look in the kitchen, stick his head on out the restaurant door like the professional he is. Memory-eating magic, sure, magically disappearing... okay, also sure, because he got himself zapped out of a bloody shower not that long ago. ]
no subject
Let's play the Jeopardy theme.
But oh - just look down the street! She's shuffling right back toward the restaurant because work is important and she has customers, dammit all. When she's back she's huff puffing, dripping from head to toe, black hair wetly framing her face.]
S-sorry for leaving so suddenly.
...
Today's been a very strange day.
no subject
[ Let yourself be ushered, that's his recommendation. Saves some time. ]
no subject
T-to tell the truth, Lestrade-san, I-I haven't been able to smile or laugh without suddenly appearing somewhere else...
[Oh yes thank god we have big towels for emergency cases. You never know when you'll spill a whole tub of soup or something.]
no subject
Handing off one large towel, all the better to start drying with. ]
no subject
[don't smile don't smile don't smile
wait]
... Belt?
[Lestrade, bro, even if I didn't have memory problems, I'm nearly feudal over here.]
no subject
It's, uh. Just an expression. You might not have come by it yet. [ Or you've forgotten it, but either way is pretty much the same. He's not explaining the finer details of "below the belt". Not to that face. ] Means it's not fair.
1/2
Oh I se--
[PAFF]
no subject
Aah—It's dark!
Where am I??
[SOME CANS FALL, SOMETHING TOPPLES, OH THE DARKNESS AAAA]
no subject
oh she's right in there
At least it wasn't out into a lake or a roof this time. Much easier to scramble to open the pantry door than to hunt through a village. Let him help you out there, Sayo. He may or may not be looking a little guilty about this turn in events WHOOPS. ]
Still all right?
no subject
She stumbles out, looking a little dazed, rubbing the side of her still wet face, shivering from being in a fountain, blinking away spots from the dark to the light, holding a broom in one hand.]
I don't know if I can survive a few days of this...
no subject
You sure you shouldn't just try riding this out at your place? Seems like it's a bit risky. [ Mostly to your health. ]
no subject
no subject
Promise is a promise, huh? [ God help her. :| ] You might think about making a run for dry clothes, at least.
no subject
[oh gods what]
W-what was that that just happened to me?
What a strange noise...
no subject
...ah, though. Not the usual. ] Just a sneeze. Clears your nose out. You might be getting sick.
[ Or something doesn't agree with your nostrils. He's not a doctor, he just kind of lets these things go. Not a big deal, Sayo, that's the message. ]
no subject
[She rubs the towel over her hair fervently.]
I'll go get a change of clothes, and then I'll be right right back!
[OH--! She starts over to the oven, moving a kettle.]
I can make you some tea before I go! Wouldn't want to keep you waiting!
