21st Memory [Voice/Action?]

[Sayo had a scary moment today. She'd opened her journal for review, flipped through the pages, and found herself speaking with someone she didn't recognize—she didn't recognize? She leaned in, scanned their faces, and her heart dropped into her stomach. And soon she found herself flipping to more and more pages, and they were there, and she knew them. She knew them!]

Crona-san...? K-kamina? Ciel?

Who—

[Suddenly, she's reminded of her faceless husband, and she flusters and grows cold all at once.

There were others. So many others. They had less to look for, but she had forgotten them all the same. Where they important to her? Where they friends? How could she have let this happen? How many others... She turns the page and starts a voice entry, trying to mask the growing anxiety bubbling under the surface of a quiet voice.]

[Voice]

U-um, if you–if you know me, can I talk to you? If you know me at all... I'd like to talk to you again...

[No, think of a good excuse for this. She clears her throat a bit, as if to unruffle some metaphorical feathers. Maybe some non-metaphorical ones, too. And then she pulls up a smile.]

Actually... I was wondering about the 'amusement' place. It just appeared, didn't it? I'm not sure what it is, but people seem like they're really interested in it. What does it do? Perhaps... a food place? Something for games? Have any of you gone yet?

[After that, it's time for venturing to work, and then to the tea shop! She was considering working it for a few hours after Seventh Heaven. It was at least good memories... Few, yes, but they were with Kaji, in their home. That was what mattered to her. It made her happy. Content, even with the usual problems in her day.]

Me? I'm just fine. [She swats a hand nonchalantly at that. Why wouldn't she be fine? She's always fine! Always. :I] What is this... 'Hall of Personas'?

[Sayo... he has heard "I'm fine" too often, from too many people who didn't mean it, for him to be satisfied with this answer anymore or to take it at face value.]

... If... if you truly have a problem, I... I would happily listen...

... As for the Hall of Personas, it... i-is an attraction that one enters, where... the m-mirrors inside it show different versions of... of one's self.

[Robert is going to just... not mention that it showed himself as a drug addict.]

... Others can... s-see one's own personas, as well.

Personas? How can there be... more than one version of us?

Ah - I... believe they are simulated... They behave like mirrors, but... er, I-I am not certain.

[It is an interesting question. Now Robert is curious...]

That word. It's familiar...

A mirror is, essentially, a flat, r-reflective surface. One can see oneself using it...

... though, as I noted, this is s-somewhat different.

It... really needs to be seen to be properly explained... [Though Robert would be ashamed taking Sayo himself.]

I see! I'll just have to see it myself and figure it out!

It c-certainly is, if you are not used to amusement parks... [He isn't, either, so he certainly understands why she'd be a little overwhelmed if she went.]

Do you have... somebody to go with safely, Ms. Sayo...?

Ah, I do, actually! A friend of mine offered to go with me; she's a very sweet girl.

I am glad... it is much b-better to have someone else to go with. [Says the antisocial guy...]

... Ah... s-speaking of which, Ms. Sayo... did you wish for me to s-stop by sometime? I... have always meant to do so, and... never quite got the opportunity.

Oh, you'd like to stop by? I could make you something to drink, if you want to; I never mind some company.

I... I would, actually. If you would not mind.

I still have to show you the p-picture, after all. [Before she forgets what a rainbow is...]

Do... do you have time, today, before you go to the amusement park...?

I do believe I have some time, actually.

[Whelp, moment of truth.] ... A phenomenon referred to as... a rainbow.

... I told you about them before... [He lets his sentence hang, awkwardly. This is the one problematic thing about having a really strong memory when the person you're talking to doesn't...]

Ah? I see! Then I'll just have to relearn what you told me, when you come over to show me! [She seems so very unfazed by the fact that she's forgotten that.] I know it must be something special, if you're coming to show me it.

[Robert exhales slowly. Okay... yes, he'll just need to reteach it. It's not that big a deal. At least she remembers him.]

I think you will... find it very beautiful.

... Sh-shall I... set out now?

Go ahead! I'll be here waiting.

... I shall be there as soon as possible, then...

[He remembers Sayo's house from when he took her there as a crab (that kind of incident stays in your mind, even if you don't have obscene memory) and so he sets out a little cautiously for it, nanocomputer clutched in his hands.

It's a foreign route, due to the fact he's only travelled it once, but eventually he does arrive at Community Building 2. Then he knocks anxiously at the door, a hesitant little rap, before drawing back and looking plaintively up at it as though expecting Sayo to kick him when she went to open it.]

[~~PUNTS AS SHE OPENS THE DOOR~~

Except come on, Robert, this is Sayo. Just look at the happy little smile she has when she opens the door!]

Hello, Robert-san! Come in; I just made something to drink. And maybe something sweet, if you're hungry.

[~~aaaaahhhh~~

Aw. That happy little smile sets the scientist immediately more at-ease, and he returns it shyly. It's nice to be appreciated/viewed in a positive light...]

Thank you very much, Ms. Sayo... I appreciate the effort on m-my behalf.

[He steps delicately inside, waiting for permission to enter the apartment proper from Sayo (as well as anything else she might wish for him to do).]

... May I be of any assistance...?

Oh, you don't have to do that. You're a guest, after all! I just finished some cookies; they're sitting out to cool. Do you like tea, or would you prefer something else?

[Come now, take a seat on the couch! :D]

Ah... if you say so, Ms. Sayo. [Suddenly awkward, he walks after her over to where the couch is with measured, cautious steps.]

... And I am... very partial to tea. I m-must say, my friends have made me very appreciative of it...

[He politely places his nanocomputer, still in its case, in his lap while he seats himself.]

Right! I'll bring you some tea. [And it's not much longer than she's walking out of the kitchen with a cup of said tea and a small plate of cookies. To the coffee table they go!] You said you had something to show me! A rainbow, right?

[Both the steaming tea and the warm cookies smell delicious, and Robert settles gratefully closer to the coffee table.]

That is correct, Ms. Sayo. It is... contained in my nanocomputer, here, along with... o-other holophotographs I have taken of Luceti.

[He gestures at the unassuming little device next to him. He suspects that, to Sayo, it's something akin to magic...]

Oh! [And she plops down next to him.] And what does a nanocomputer do?
