[Unfortunately for Sayo, she didn't exactly... walk back in from the draft; she'd gotten herself into quite the mess there, resulting in wing so busted up that it had to be removed regardless, and thanks to that she was suffering from an awful fever and couldn't really move. So. Instead of returning home, she had to stay at the clinic. Most times she was able to get enough medication that she unnaturally drifted off in and out of restfulness. Laying on her side helped, too.

She thinks about familiar faces—during her stay in the medical tent, she remembered brief, strangely illuminated visages of different people. There was Nami, and then Raine, and then the man who'd helped her, and more than that. She even recollects seeing Mithos and Ginko and Kaji, but... she realizes reality deviated like a fork in those moments.

More than anything, she wants to talk to people, thinking about that sort of thing. She reaches over, smoothing out her journal at her side, before she hesitantly turns it on. Her voice is controlled, soft.]

[Voice]

Is... Um. [She swallows hard, clearing her throat.] Did everyone return alright? I hope not too many people were injured... I know I saw quite a few injuries, but I hope they were nothing too severe. If you were hurt, please let me know you're doing well.

[She smiles, unseen by the screen, which is covered with a pillow.]

Something wonderful did happen, though. I actually dreamed, the other night; it really is an amazing thing, isn't it? Being able to see such clear images in your mind... It was so wonderful. I know there are bad dreams, too... But... But I like the good ones. I could see people in them—even if I miss them and they're not here, I'm glad I was able to see them.

[She laughs softly.]

I guess it's a strange thing to talk about.

[...And.

She has to make sure. Has to check. If he's back....]

Mithos...? Are you there?

[Other than that? She'll be here for a few days recuperating. Reading from her notebooks when she can, steadily gaining some strength, having to re-learn a lot of notes she'd written up before she'd gotten injured. You can visit her on any ol' day later in the week, up until the 22nd; she might just ask you to teach her about this... checkers thing. :|a

It's been sitting on her table and she is intensely curious about it, okay.]

[she laughs faintly]

Don't worry about me, Nami-san. I take pretty good care of myself! Even if I do have strange outbursts from time to time. Being alone at night... I've gotten myself used to it! It's peaceful. And I've made good friends that I still remember.

[:D And I have a roomie! So don't even sweat the loneliness thing.]

I wish you didn't have to get used to it, though. But I guess... at least...

...I'm up most nights myself. So if you're ever bored, you could talk to me.

[She nods, smiling.]

Of course. If I ever feel lonely, I'll give Nami-san a call! I promise.

Yes. I—um, I know who Mithos is... Why do you ask?

[Yes, she peeked. She should feel like a terrible person, but she's Nami.]

Do you know much about him?

I... I suppose so. I've heard about him.

[... I-is that a good enough answer...]

[Nnnnope. Though Nami's not sure how to push this. Sayo is obviously okay (well, specifically speaking) and all she knows about Mithos is that he's apparently bad news. She doesn't know the why.

Well. Time to be blunt.]

I'm just a little worried. You've-- he's-- [Gdit, blunt, not tongue-tied.] He's a friend, right? Just... be careful.

Yes! I—I know he's done things before, but he's a good boy, really. He's just... a little confused and hurt. [Maybe she shouldn't sound so invested in the kid's story. :| Cough. She looks down and tucks a strand of hair sheepishly.] I just worry for him, sometimes.

[... and the people around him. But. That best not be mentioned.]

All right. [She says it reluctantly, but really, she doesn't know any more about this guy.] Then I'll leave it at that.

[A smile, as she holds up, out of nowhere, a board. A checkerboard.]

Then you can show me how to play this, now! It didn't come with any instructions, so...

Ah! Sure, I think I can do that. Got the pieces that go with it?

Yeah! Look, it's really neat; there's a little drawer on the bottom of the board that keeps them all!

Oh, good. In that case, let's have a game. I'll teach you on the way.

[She'll take that board, then, setting it up on a nice flat surface-- bedside table, on a chair, wherever-- then start putting the pieces out.]
