17th Memory [Action]

[When she wakes up, she recalls darkness and a definite lack of something to reach back for. The Malnosso had been kind enough to leave her the ability to talk and understand, but... it didn't really matter, considering she had no idea what the Malnosso were. Or what these strange green things were. Or what she was.

No, wait. She was a Sayo. She was definitely a Sayo. Her sliver of memory tells her so. :|a
She stumbles through the forest, barefoot, and found it to be very... --she wasn't sure. Something in the air was very heavy (it's very hot, Sayo, very hot). What was on her? Maybe she'd be better if she took these off. So she squats near the river--god, what is that? she takes a moment to suspiciously approach it--and struggles to get her dress over her head.

She learns one thing: flowy blue is good and makes skin feel better. And it shows her, when she looks in it.
Time for Adveeeeenture )
That's her, really?
Sayo continues around the edge of the green and brown scenery, and peeks silently and confusedly from her place in the thick of the brush. There are people, and they have... word, what would the word be. Arms. The little girl follows around the edge of the village, keeping low. Eventually, she decides to be brave and walk out into the middle of the plaza, sopping wet, streaked with mud (why couldn't she be and it be normal, right?).
The other Sayos don't seem to mind her much. She'll snoop around all over town, and take note that people walk in places. Like she did in the green. So she follows them inside and looks around. Apologies if she ends up following you into your home.]
((ooc: she's just about a blank slate memory-wise, but she'll learn quick. also, her mushi is dormant for this effect. Time and space = totally broken, so don't worry about that. Wolfwood'll be back... eventually. Soonish. :|a

16th Memory [Voice][MALLYNAP TIME]

[The sound one first hears is the sound of something heavy hitting the bedroom door. She sits rather calmly in the corner of the shadowy closet though, already understanding of what's happening; not news to her, this mallynapping business. After a few beats of breath, she speaks up with a sort of controlled calmness, like someone slowly ripping a page from a book, leaving little jagged edges.

She'll at least try to sound chipper, though.]

I guess... they're here to take me, like before. I wish they weren't so rude about it...

[A hesitant beat.]

The people who helped me in the restaurant: I hope you don't mind, but could you try to keep everything working over there? If–if you can. I'd appreciate it...

((ooc: leaving this open for tags and a few comments from Sayo, because I don't want to throw up the same mally-post as last time. 3D;;

But yeah, if anyone goes for action instead, the place'll either be empty (and relatively undamaged save for the bedroom door), or you'll get your ass handed to you by the droids outside. VIVA LA DROID RESISTANCE vOv

Wolfwood'll be gone Wed.))

14th Memory [Accidental Voice/Action]

[Hello, Luceti. Are you having a good Monday? Good. Goooood. Then you won't mind the sudden cry of surprise from the journal, will you? There's shuffle and a few huffs from running. This is because Sayo is hiding under a tree, gripping the trunk for dear life.]

The sky!! There's something wrong with the sky!

It's—it's melting!!

[... Yes, you can hear the the rain falling. If you want an action thread, you'll find Sayo clinging in terror to a tree, crouched low with her eyes closed, shaking in her kimono. Because she's never seen anything like this, and it's a little terrifying. She just wanted to speak to the wind spirit, and this happens? Is it another experiment? Is Luceti breaking? She presses her forehead into the bark and squares her shoulders at the sounds. A-ah, it's starting to fall through the trees. Oh gods, oh no!

Way later, she goes to work. Soaked to the bone. Fucking rain. 8'D

More-than-likely, she'll end up doing to the clothes store later, so one may find her there as well, staring blankly at a rack full of sundresses and blouses. Which is a very peculiar experience for a woman from a more feudal Japan. Sayo may not have much in the way of memories, but she does have her idea of appropriate attire intact. And this...]

... This is a little... revealing... I think...

[She picks up a noodle-strap top and furrows her brow; very (unsure) about this, man.]

13th Memory [Action/Voice]

[Shuffle.

shuffle shuffle

snap snap

Sayo had been having a decent weekend, and for a moment, it seemed like it was right back to normal in Luceti. Still had those bouts of 'sleeping' problems, but hey, things were doing well. That is, until she found herself about 1 inch off the ground, barely enough to fit in a palm. Now she's shuffling sideways outside of work, leaving her clothes in a round pile to panic among the people walking by. Oh god oh god everyone's almost stepping on her—she skuttles over to the door to Seventh Heaven and beats her claw on it. Aaaah, that's right, she's early, oh no, oh dear—

THAT GUY ALMOST STEPPED ON HER.

So, Luceti. There's a high-pitch SCREAAAAA— noise as she skuttles haphazardly around people's (your?) feet. And if you listen well enough, you can hear the teeny tiny stunned voice:]

I'VE BEEN TURNED INTO A MONSTER!!

[snap snip]

Someone help me, I can't move well—please don't step on me—ahh!! Please, look down; o-oh, my clothes, my journal, someone!!

[Way way way later:]

Is... anyone else having troubles maneuvering their journals? [>_>]

11th Memory [Voice/Action][Future-dated to tomorrow]

[Sayo returns from the tunnels, and it's like a welled up pressure in her chest finally dissipates into something more manageable—to go from a battlefield of bodies to a clean, cold forest that takes the air right out of her... she almost feels detached from reality, for the return home. Nothing left physically but a bandaged arm. A stitched up cut that was nothing compared to what a lot of people had to deal with there.]

[Voice]

It feels good to return... Has everyone here been doing well?

...Ah... Nami-san, can I speak with you? When you're feeling up to it.

[It's strange. So much is missing, and she's completely aware of it, right now. She remembers bits and pieces of each day. Very small bits and pieces. Speaking to some in the room. Tending to people in the medical tent. Nami's getting hurt, and her fear at that moment. Archie and Jack. Moro. She remembers only these fleeting moments from these days, while the mushi busied itself devouring so much else; she was terrified she'd lose what she'd gained in Luceti.

One thing was for sure. She was exhausted. And... unable to sleep, even still. Her eyes are rimmed with gray crescents, but... how do you even try to rest after that? The only thing to do is go to work and try to pretend it was all okay now. She'd forgotten most of the drinks and dinners again, but she'll try regardless to get them to each table without delay. But the truth is, she can't focus on anything but the memories she did manage to keep. When they say things can haunt you, they mean it, because it trails after her like a wisp of dark smoke at her shoulders.

She goes shopping and unknowingly finds she doesn't know the newer fruit and vegetables she'd learned prior. And then she returns home and sits on the couch to cry a little bit—and yet, terrify herself with not knowing why her eyes were leaking. She makes herself something simple, and leaves it uneaten on the counter (Kaji's is still made, same as usual).

And she starts weaving far too early on in the day, not stopping for a moment. 4 hours... 7 hours... 10, 15—and then she slowly leans against the loom and falls asleep for no more than a minute.

And wakes up with a violent start.]

10th Memory [Voice/Action]

[After hearing about being on a list she had no desire being on, Sayo's going to be a little anxious. She's been unable to focus during the next few hours after the broadcast, instead seeking comfort in weaving at the loom—only, her heart was beating quickly at the thought of it: she wasn't sure what a lot of things meant, but she knew fighting. She knew it wasn't yelling back and forth, bickering, but true fighting. With—with fists—

"Worthless...completely worthless."

She cups her hands over her ears at the voice from her very own thoughts, as the images of a violent, seething Mithos crossed her mind.

She would have to look into the faces of people capable of hurting, like him. What could she do? What... She waits a few hours for Ginko, and afterward makes her way to the blacksmith... just to look. To look... and see if there were any weapons she could possibly wield on her own. There had to be some way to keep herself from being useless, right? She could—she would...

No, don't think about it. Don't...

She goes to work, leaves, shops, and it's all clockwork. Except before she returns home, she ventures to the forest and talks again with the wind spirit. It was soothing, she thinks, to focus on learning... than to focus on what's to come. Her stomach knots at the thought of it.

She sits on her couch and opens her journal. Uncertainty would string through her words, but for now... a low, unreadable voice:]

[voice]

For those who fight... [How does she address so many questions...?] What do you do, before you go out there? How do you prepare yourself?

9th Memory [Action/Voice]

[After a very tiring last few weeks—between learning about things she's forgotten and turning into things she could never willingly forget—Sayo found herself resting comfortably in Luceti. The experiment, while straining for some, wasn't so bad. She'd gotten to record an image of her son's face while she was stuck in his body... and now she can proudly put the picture on a table in her living room.

Even with her in his body, it was still so him. Did they really share the way they emoted that well? It's something to laugh about.

She's also been working on making something beyond the traditional Japanese outfit. Because honestly? She wanted to try something new—even if it meant her knowledge of clothes-making was in jeopardy, she didn't mind it. She'd relearn it later, hmm?

So she's been making blankets and dropping them off at the clothes store. Ones that are
moreso her world's style, some that are patterned unlike anything she's used to (—and what interesting ways of making blankets! Quilts!). She can't help but ask, as she sits contently to watch people come and go:]

[Voice for Everyone Ever]

What type of hobbies do you enjoy doing? And has this place made you form any new ones?

[After that, she'll leave, and uncharacteristically veer off her usual path toward the inner forest.

She's been hearing (repeatedly, forgetting often, relearning often...) that there are spirits here that can teach people things. She's not sure which to listen to first, but she knows she wants to try. Try... and see if it's something her mind will keep intact. Perhaps the water one... or the wind one... Ah, those would be good! They would be helpful to protect oneself without hurting the other person fighting, right?

When she feels she's far out enough, she speaks hesitantly—]

Hello...? Is... is this how I speak with you...?

[Granted, you may find her lost in the forest. Which way was back again... hmmm... :|a]

7th Memory [Action/Voice]

[It's been a while since she was taken in by the Malnosso, and it was shockingly easy for her to just ignore any shred of her memory in those cells and live like normal. She didn't dream—didn't have to worry about waking up in a pale fright at the image of scientists... didn't have to worry because memories would slowly fade away over time.

...In fact, it was finally the 2nd, that her usual routine had completely wiped out all memory of being taken in the first place. So don't be surprised if she never brings it up, or if she's confused when you do.

She continues off to work where she'll probably forget her boss is currently a girl, like she would/will everyday (sorry Sanji) and proceeds to do her job. It's a good day. Cold, but good. And even when she forgets what cola is, she's far beyond even her trademark 'confused hand-to-cheek' maneuver.

She just laughs into her hand.

When she realizes she has to get herself some fresh groceries and finish Kamina's scarf, she makes sure to hurry back home and get that done. She actually makes sure to stop by the store daily and get something, as to continue her pattern. And as she sits with her task finished, she makes a meal in honor of Kaji; the images of her son pass through her mind, all welcomed and loved and soothing.

... A thoughtful pause.

She's in the middle of making a third plate of food....? A third meal?

She feels like she's been doing this a lot, lately.]

...My, I... I must have my head pretty far in the clouds...

[Or, at least, she hopes that's all it is. A while later, after much thinking—despite her personality, she thinks more than most probably should—she picks up her journal and speaks softly:]

...What is your happiest memory?

6th Memory [Video][Future-dated to the morning of the 22nd]

[When Sayo finally sits up from her place in the forest, she isn't sure what's happened. She'd been unconscious—'asleep'—and now upon rising she finds her mind is sluggish and trying to catch up with her situation. Brief flashes of a robotic form... being dragged away... and then, it seems, blackness. Little still-frames of cells and strange men in white. But strangely enough, she kept seeing flashes of home—of Kaji and her home. Of the things she's managed to remember. And of three trays of food near a hearth.

The journal flips open slowly to the will of her fingers, before she hugs herself for warmth.]

I... how long was I...

[She lowers her gaze, trying to think clearly. Her feet are refusing to move, so she just sits quietly in place.

But she smiles anyway, no matter how tired she feels, and rubs her face with her palms. There are needle-marks on the inside of her elbow as proof that her Malnosso-empty memory isn't quite as empty as she'd like, but she dismisses them hesitantly. Proof of her experiments.]

I guess I'm back from wherever they took me...

4th Memory [Written/Action/Voice]

[Sayo nervously skipped work.

She'd been on her way there, actually, and ended up with a
less-than-pleasant run-in with Mithos—guess it was easier to talk to the boy through journals for a reason. With her side aching sharply and her lip bruised up, there was that quieted shame; maybe it was her fault, for trying to reason with him. But why would a boy that age be so cruel? She really couldn't comprehend it, let alone half of what he spoke about. After struggling with herself on whether or not she'd want anyone to know, she finally decides it would be easier to just... forget about it. Forgetting was easy, right? She was good at it, even.

She leaves Sanji a small written note in the journal in the afternoon, with a lack of filter—she's not really too sure how to do it, and she doesn't want to ask Ginko to do it for her, s-so... Well, if it's just written to 'Sanji', anyway, it'd be okay:]

Written To Sanji )

[But of course, she had to leave the apartment eventually—food was important, and she tended to only take what was needed of her. So as nighttime settles she quietly slips on a scarf and pulls it close to her mouth, shoulders stiff leaving to the grocery shop for some of the things she'd needed replaced... Though she decides, with some fondness, to look at all the toys in the store before getting what she needed.

Er, sort of.

She stands in front of an aisle composed of jars, boxes, bags, everything, for a long time, curious about all of these things, and when she's done with what she needs and returns home, she addresses everyone in a chipper voice:]

2nd Memory [Accidental Written/Action](future-dated)

[Rise and shine, Luceti! When you wake up, you may notice your journals have a few pages-worth of... notes? To the Japanese speakers out there, it's in older characters, but of course it'll translate to the English speakers as a garble of:]

[And a very lovely description of her home, in her world~

...She will never understand these journals. -_-;

Sayo soon starts her day, running off to the store to buy take more food! But she can't help but stare for a looong time at all of these boxes; they're all just so confusing, and even Ginko is at a loss for some of them. Sayo also visits the item shop, but nothing yet on her loom or any other possessions from home; the patterned kimono are still there—aaah, and they're really pretty... but they might belong to someone. Best leave them be and just pick a few more things up from the clothing store.

When everything's all set, she quietly dips into Seventh Heaven, looking around in half-contained awe. All this seems so surreal, so different from what she's used to. But she's already decided to try avoid looking at any situation with dread. She'll just have to make the most of it, and luckily, that's not so hard to do when things seem so nice.]

1st Memory [Video]

[It's midnight, but it'll take her a minute to note this. There's a drawn-out yawn, and the grunting of someone doing their usual morning stretch. And in the dark, an outline of a woman appears, in the usual Luceti New Feather garb. She touches her cheek, confused, unable to really see the book in the blue hue of night.]

That was a good rest! Ah—b-but... oh. Oh dear, did I fall asleep doing chores again? That hasn't happened in a long time... [A shiver, as she hugs herself.] It's gotten so dark... and cold, too...

[She huffs in frustration, but the nervousness is rolling off her shoulders in waves]

Kaji? Kaaaji, can you hear me?! ...Ooooh, I can't believe I wandered this far out! I don't even recognize it at all!

...Wait a moment; what am I wearing? These definitely aren't mine

[And straight to the wings soon after; she pulls on them and immediately regrets it, wincing aloud.]

W-w-what are these strange things!? Th—

AH, they're flapping!!

[With that outburst, she promptly trips backward on her own two feet, landing her bottom right on top of her journal.]
